Bynum is a 1993 graduate of Gardner-Webb University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sociology. He attended GWU on a football scholarship. In 2001, he was inducted into Gardner Webb University Gallery of Distinguished Graduates.
Professionally, Bynum has devoted 30 years serving at the Senior Executive level with several non-profit organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity, Inc., AMikids, Inc. Big Brother Big Sisters, Inc., Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce and Cyber Academy of South Carolina. He currently serves as Deputy Director-Job ChalleNGe for SCYCA.
Bynum is a dedicated and devoted family man, married to the lovely Shawna Bynum. They have three children, Jessica, Caleb, and Naomi.
